FrontPage Extensions allows you to upload via
Microsoft Front Page.
The disadvantage of using it is that if you use
Front Page to upload your web pages,
you have to keep using FrontPage Extensions to
upload those web pages in the future.
For future flexibility, we recommend using FTP
instead. Inside FrontPage version 2003,
you have the option to use FTP instead of FrontPage
Extensions now.
Do not mix FrontPage Extensions with other uploading
methods or it will break your pages.
If you use FrontPage Extensions, you will need to
keep using it.
By default FrontPage is disabled, so if you really need to
use it, you have to enable it first.
All hosting packages except the Premium Lite and
Premium Basic will support FrontPage Extensions.
To enable Front Page Extensions:
1. Login to
Account Manager
2. Click on "Hosting Accounts"
3. Click on the "WebSite Manager" button next to
your hosting domain name.
4. Inside your WebSite Manager, click on
"Site Builders" located on the top left
corner of the page.
5. Then click on "FrontPage Manager"
6. You will now see a screen to start the Front Page
Extension installation.
Note: Because FrontPage Extensions conflicts with FTP, if you
want to use
FrontPage Extensions, you will no longer be able to use FTP.
7. Click on the "Next" button to start the
installation.
8. Choose your own Front Page Extension password,
and then click "Next" to complete the installation.
To Upload WebPages using Front Page
Extensions:
1. Open the Microsoft FrontPage program on your
computer.
2. Open a webpage inside a web.
3. Click on "File" and select "Publish Site" from

Service" option
5. Enter in your remote website location:
http://your-own-site-name.com
(Remember replace "your-own-site-name.com" with your own
actual hosting domain name.)
Do not take the example literally. In other words, your
FrontPage username is your hosting domain name.
6. Enter in your FrontPage password.
Note: If you can not login, you can change your FrontPage
password by logging into your hosting control panel,
click on "Site Builders," and then click on "Front Page
Manager." Inside the FrontPage Manager, click on the
"Password" tab.
7. You're set.
Remember, the "public" directory folder is where
your html web pages will reside.
The main first page should be called: index.html
